Innovative, from Clarivate, continues to evolve the modern library experience by bringing together powerful integrations, mobile-first access, and smarter discovery across collections, ensuring libraries can better serve both their communities and their staff. As part of this ongoing innovation, Clarivate and Hoopla are continuously enhancing how digital content is discovered and accessed.
Building on this commitment, Innovative has introduced a significant enhancement for consortia libraries using Vega Discover: more precise control over Hoopla content visibility. With a simple backend setting, consortia can suppress Hoopla records from the main shared catalog site, ensuring that Hoopla titles are only accessible to patrons of member libraries with Hoopla.
This enhancement directly addresses a longstanding challenge in consortia environments. Previously, patrons could encounter Hoopla titles in the shared catalog even if their home library did not offer access, leading to confusion and failed checkout attempts. With this update, Vega Discover ensures that Hoopla titles appear only for eligible users, creating a more intuitive and streamlined experience.

Implemented via a single checkbox in the Vega Discover backend settings, this feature hides Hoopla records from the main site while continuing to share them with eligible member libraries. With a set it and forget it integration, records are automatically loaded and mapped to BIBFRAME, allowing print and electronic resources to be seamlessly grouped. For libraries, this means greater efficiency and reduced staff time spent managing resources. For patrons, it delivers a smoother, more personalized discovery journey.
This enhancement aligns with the commitment at Clarivate to enable a connected, user-centric library ecosystem that simplifies access, enhances discovery, and delivers meaningful experiences for every patron. Clarivate and Hoopla remain committed to continuous innovation, working toward an even more seamless and intuitive library experience.
