Modernizing community engagement: How Clermont County Public Library improved the library experience with Vega LX

In 2024, Clermont County Public Library (CCPL) embarked on a transformative digital journey to modernize how it connects with its community. By moving from a patchwork of disconnected platforms to the integrated Vega Library Experience (LX) ecosystem, CCPL streamlined workflows, improved accessibility, and delivered a more intuitive experience for patrons and staff alike.

Located in Clermont County, Ohio, just east of Cincinnati, CCPL serves more than 208,600 residents across 10 branches, with an annual circulation exceeding 1.6 million items. With a long-standing mission to foster lifelong learning, the library recognized that its existing digital tools no longer matched the expectations of modern users. Patrons struggled with separate website and catalog searches, staff faced time-consuming updates, and accessibility requirements placed a heavy burden on internal teams.

To address these challenges, CCPL adopted Vega LX, beginning with Vega Program, followed by Vega WebBuilder and Vega Discover. Together, these solutions created a unified digital ecosystem where the website, catalog, and events work seamlessly as one. Patrons can now move effortlessly from browsing the website to discovering materials, registering for programs, and managing their accounts – all within a cohesive, visual experience.

“For the first time, everything feels connected,” says Laura Eckert, Digital Specialist at CCPL. “Updating the website takes minutes instead of hours, accessibility is built in, and patrons immediately noticed how much easier it is to find what they need.”

Vega WebBuilder empowered staff with no-code editing, built-in accessibility tools, and mobile previews, while Vega Discover introduced a vibrant, showcase-driven catalog experience. Vega Program simplified event creation, room bookings, and introduced printable brochures and actionable patron feedback through post-event surveys.

The result is a future-ready digital foundation that supports CCPL’s commitment to accessibility, engagement, and service excellence. With plans to expand further into Vega Promote, Vega Mobile, and Vega Donate, Clermont County Public Library is continuing its momentum – confident in a platform designed to grow alongside its community.

Our Implementation Project Manager, Elana Simons, also enjoyed working on CCPL implementation. “The implementation of Vega WebBuilder with Clermont County Public Library was very successful thanks to effective communication paired with the knowledge and experience of both our teams. We understood the customer’s vision and built a solid foundation by discussing site architecture, using the tools we provided and a winning methodology, a well-designed and thoughtful site that was aimed towards their specific patron set and getting their library information across. The library team was open, hardworking and the site looks great!
