Innovative, part of Clarivate™, is pleased to announce the release of Polaris 7.5. This release focused on improvements for staff workflows and the patron experience, including some long-anticipated enhancement requests.
Highlights of this release include:
- Multiple Pickup Options – Libraries can now define multiple pickup locations within a single branch to accommodate for pickup locations such as curbside or smart lockers as well as the hold shelf.
- Age-Related Loan Policies – Libraries can now choose to restrict holds and circulation on certain material types based on the patron’s age.
- Declare Damaged Processing – The new Damaged status allows items to be declared damaged from both the patron account and a new Damaged Item check-in view.
- Weeding and Waiver Workflows – Libraries can now choose to introduce approval-based workflows in Polaris Leap for weeding item records and waiving patron fines.
This release also includes enhancements from Idea Exchange, such as the ability to automatically clear object locks older than a library-defined threshold, the ability to add custom menu options to Leap, and improvements to our volume-level holds processing for non-integrated serials (i.e., for volumes with no serial holdings record).
Furthermore, the release of Polaris 7.5 coincides with updates to the LX Starter patron notice email program. When LX Starter is used with Polaris 7.4 and above, it can now support Borrow-by-mail failure notices, Cancelled Request notices, Manual Bill notices, and Missing Parts notices.
