Weber County Library in Utah launches Vega Program

Innovative™, part of Clarivate™, is proud to share that the Weber County Library in Utah has launched Vega Program for event and room booking management.

The Weber County Library (WCL) has its origins as a city library in Ogden, and was migrated to Weber County administration in 1966. Today, WCL oversees five branches, more than 150 staff, and a collection of approximately 1,110,000 physical and digital items. In addition to its physical and electronic collections, WCL offers yoga, craft nights, tech labs, book discussions, art galleries, scavenger hunts, STEAM clubs, and much more.

“Vega Program gives our library the features that we were looking for in event management; simplicity on the staff side for creating and managing events, and simplicity for patrons who come to our website to find out what’s going on at the library,” says Ben Johnson, Manager of Library Technical and Digital Services.

Vega Program provides library event information for both patrons and staff in an easy-to-access format and an intuitive interface for viewing events, requesting rooms, and managing reservations. Its many features include the option to provide maps of event locations, the ability to generate flyers and emails for publicity, and a method for processing payments when applicable. Features added for library consortia include the ability for staff to manage calendars throughout the consortium, as well as the option for community members to view library events for their local branch or for the entire consortium.

Vega Program is part of the Vega Library Experience (LX), a cloud-based platform that allows library staff to easily communicate and manage a full range of materials, programs, and services. To learn more about Vega Program or any solution in the Vega LX suite of solutions, contact us today.
