EMERYVILLE, Calif. June 23, 2021 – Innovative, a ProQuest company and leading global provider of library software, announced today that Orion Township Public Library has joined the Early Access partner program for Vega Discover, Innovative’s new, modern discovery solution.
“Anything we can do to make it easier for our patrons to use the library remotely or online is important to us,” said Karen Knox, Director of Orion Township Public Library. “Especially after the impact of the pandemic, we were interested in a discovery system that makes it easier for our patrons to find materials on their own.”
The Orion Township Public Library serves a population of almost 40,000 in Orion Township, Michigan, with an annual circulation of almost 500,000 items. The library works with local schools to increase literacy, provides unique outdoor programming, and offers an extensive collection of online resources to their community.
“When selecting Vega Discover, the work-level roll ups were a significant feature for us,” said Knox. “We have many users who don’t realize there are other formats available because they have to scroll to find them. To see all of those formats listed in one place for an item with a tab for each format was amazing.”
Discover is one module in the Vega Library Experience (LX) suite, a cloud-based platform that allows library staff to easily communicate and manage the full range of materials, programs, and services available to their community. Vega is designed to offer an engaging library experience to staff, patrons, donors, and citizens.
