EMERYVILLE, Calif. July 15, 2021 – Innovative, a ProQuest company and leading global provider of library software, announced today that PrairieCat, a consortium with an integrated library automation system shared by 137 libraries, has joined the Vega Engagement Development Partner program to help shape the Vega Library Experience (LX) suite.
“PrairieCat is excited to explore the potential that Vega offers us to better engage with our patrons,” said Carolyn Coulter, PrairieCat Director. “As we emerge from COVID, re-engaging with our communities becomes vital for our libraries.”
PrairieCat serves 21 counties in Northern Illinois and has a shared catalog of over one million items. Through the online consortium catalog, patrons of fully participating libraries can manage their own accounts, place holds, track their reading history, and pay fines with a credit card.
The Vega Library Experience (LX) suite offers libraries a unified solution for building ongoing relationships with their community and communicating with users across multiple channels, all while keeping patron data, communication history, and analytics in one place for library staff. The Vega LX suite includes six products: Connect, Discover, Interact, Promote, Program, and Analyze.
Vega LX is developed in partnership with global leading libraries to create a complete library experience for staff, patrons, donors, and citizens. Development Partners help shape Vega’s development through advisory discussions, usability testing, and beta testing. The Vega Engagement Development Partner program is focused on Vega Interact, Promote, and Program.
Vega works seamlessly with Sierra and Polaris. To learn more, read our eBook “Re-imagining the Library Experience,” or visit the Innovative website.
