By unifying their systems, they’ve not only enhanced patron engagement but also simplified daily operations for staff. With Polaris ILS, they achieved the streamlined workflows they were looking for, gaining robust automation, real-time data insights, and more efficient cataloging and circulation processes.
The CDL provides a center for information, education, culture, and recreation through collections, programs, and services. The library was established in 1993, has five branches, including the Local History Library, which is the system’s original Carnegie library, located in Cassopolis, and services a total population of almost 37,000 people.
With Vega Discover, libraries can highlight themed collections on any topic, from holidays and local events to staff picks and community interests. This helps patrons discover more of what your library has to offer. It’s a simple, powerful way to stay relevant and connect readers to the stories and resources that matter most. To celebrate Earth Day this April, the CDL staff used Vega Discover to shine a spotlight on their environmentally focused collection. With just a few clicks, they created a dedicated showcase of books on sustainability, climate action, and green living, making it easy for patrons to explore and engage with meaningful content.
“After years spent working to modernize our library facilities, update collections, and diversify program offerings, we now have a staff and patron experience that feels really custom and very responsive to our community needs. The suite of offerings has helped streamline workflows and reduce redundancy, allowing for more staff time to be spent working on patron-focused initiatives,” says Brandi Roberts, Technical Processing Manager at CDL.
