Innovative, from Clarivate, is thrilled to announce that Troy Public Library in Michigan has gone live with Vega Discover, the next-generation library catalog experience designed to make discovery intuitive, engaging, and personalized for every patron. This exciting upgrade brings a modern, user-friendly search interface to the community – simplifying how readers explore the library’s rich collections. Vega Discover’s advanced search tools, format roll-ups, personalized bookshelves, and interactive features will help patrons find what they want faster and dive deeper into new topics of interest.
A cornerstone of the community since the early 1960s, Troy Public Library has grown into one of the state’s most respected institutions, opening its permanent facility on Big Beaver Road in 1971. Today, it circulates more than one million items annually and has earned statewide recognition for excellence among large libraries. One of its most unique treasures? A special 1971 collection of letters written to the children of Troy by notable figures, including Neil Armstrong and Dr. Seuss.
Emily Dumas, Library Director at the TPL, shared with us: “We knew it was time to get Vega Discover as the staff and patrons had been admiring the neighboring libraries’ catalogs. As with any major project, there’s always the concern that implementation will be an arduous experience filled with missteps and hiccups, but this was not the case working with the Vega team. They were helpful, knowledgeable, and responsive, and they helped us pull off a seamless transition. The patrons are thrilled with the new catalog and its inviting and intuitive interface. We’re also very excited about additional features to add down the road!”
With Vega Discover now live, Troy Public Library continues its legacy of innovation – offering patrons a modern, intuitive way to explore and connect with its outstanding collections.
