Vega Discover supports multiple pickup locations

Once upon a time, if you placed a hold on an item at a library, when the item became available it would be waiting for you at the Hold shelf, which was usually behind the circulation desk.

But as libraries have expanded, whether as part of large academic institutions or public libraries, there may be multiple areas in the library to pick up an item – perhaps at a desk in the children’s section, within the architecture section of the library, or at a self-service locker.

Innovative™, part of Clarivate™, is pleased to announce that institutions that support multiple pickup areas at the same branch can now allow patrons to select among multiple pick-up areas at that branch within the Vega™, Discover interface.

When a branch has multiple pick-up areas configured in Polaris™, these locations appear as a drop-down list on the “Place Hold” screen

In addition, patrons can define a Preferred Pickup Area within their Preferred Pickup Location.

Furthermore, when an item is ready to be picked up, LX Starter supports displaying the correct pick-up area on the email sent to the library patron.

This LX Starter feature will require Polaris 7.5 or above.

Innovative is committed to providing libraries and communities with the tools they need to thrive.
