EMERYVILLE, Calif. February 10, 2021 – Innovative, a ProQuest company and leading global provider of library software, today announced that the Miami-Dade Public Library System, one of the largest public library systems in the United States, serving 2.5 million residents through 50 library locations, has joined the Development Partner program for Vega, Innovative’s new community engagement and discovery solution designed to serve library staff, patrons, donors, and citizens.
“Adopting new technologies to improve the user experience for our patrons is a high priority for our library system. Partnering with our long-term provider Innovative to develop the Vega platform gives us a voice in creating new solutions for our residents,” said Ray Baker, Director of Miami-Dade Public Library System.
Vega, an ultramodern platform, is built from the ground up to maximize engagement with collections of all types, helping public libraries strengthen and advance their essential role in communities across the world. Vega Discover was developed in partnership with global leading libraries to create a fluid patron experience and it’s already being used by early adopters across the U.S. Ongoing Vega platform development, including the next modules, Interact and Promote, will continue with the Development Partners, who advise on development and usability, and assist with testing.
“We welcome Miami-Dade into the Vega Development Partner program and are excited to build upon our long history in creating solutions that are best for libraries and the people they serve” said Yariv Kursh, General Manager of Innovative.
