Artificial intelligence is rapidly reshaping how we work today. As libraries explore new ways to improve services, reduce administrative burden, and better support their communities, AI solutions must be informed by the people who understand library operations best.
To help guide that effort, Clarivate is launching the Public Library AI Advisory Working Group, bringing together public library professionals and Clarivate product leaders to explore how AI can be thoughtfully integrated into public library solutions.
The group will serve as a forum for collaboration, helping us better understand libraries’ priorities, challenges, and expectations for AI-enabled products and services.
Through discussions and product reviews, members will have the opportunity to:
- Help identify areas where AI can address real-world library challenges and improve day-to-day operations
- Provide feedback on AI concepts, workflows, and prototypes
- Share perspectives on adoption, configuration, governance, and implementation
- Ensure public library voices are represented as AI capabilities are incorporated into Clarivate’s public library solutions
The working group will include up to ten library professionals representing a variety of roles, library sizes, communities, and geographic regions. Participants will serve a one-year term and work closely with Clarivate product stakeholders to help shape future innovation.
What’s expected of you?
Participants are expected to attend regular virtual meetings, share practical insights from their day-to-day library experience, and contribute to discussions about AI opportunities within our products. Members will review AI-enabled concepts, providing feedback on usability, operational fit, and value for libraries. They will also help bring a broader public library perspective into the conversation, ensuring that future AI capabilities address real-world needs and support meaningful outcomes for both library staff and patrons.
