What’s New in Polaris October 2026 (8.2)

December 3 @ 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm EST

The latest Polaris release is shaped by the people who use it every day.

Polaris 8.2 includes more than 30 community-driven updates, with practical changes across cataloging, holds, serials, acquisitions, administration, APIs and more. From reducing steps in everyday tasks to giving libraries and consortia more flexibility, the release focuses on making the work behind great library service a little easier.

Join Samantha Quell and Gabrielle Gosselin for a one-hour walkthrough of Polaris 8.2. We’ll take a closer look at some of the most useful changes, show you what’s new and help you understand where the updates can make a difference in your day-to-day work.

What we’ll cover

During the session, we’ll explore updates including:

  • Faster item creation, including the ability to create multiple items using different templates
  • More flexibility for consortium holds, giving libraries greater control over how materials move between member libraries
  • Simpler label management, with the ability to manage spine-label configurations directly in Polaris
  • Improvements to serials processing, supporting common day-to-day workflows
  • Additional updates across acquisitions, administration and APIs

We’ll also leave time to answer your questions about the release.
