Queanbeyan-Palerang Regional Libraries has selected Polaris from Innovative, part of Clarivate, becoming the tenth library service in Asia-Pacific to choose Polaris.
It is an exciting milestone for the growing Polaris community in APAC, and an opportunity to welcome another library focused on making its services accessible to people wherever they live.
Serving a region of almost 67,000 residents in south-eastern New South Wales, near Canberra, Queanbeyan-Palerang Regional Libraries has libraries in Queanbeyan, Bungendore and Braidwood, complemented by a mobile library serving smaller communities across the region. Members can also collect reserved items from lockers in Queanbeyan and Bungendore, while local history collections, programs and activities support people of different ages and interests.
In 2024–25, Queanbeyan-Palerang Regional Libraries recorded more than 216,000 loans and 127,000 visits, alongside 440 onsite programs.
For libraries across the region, Polaris supports the everyday work behind a library service, from collections and circulation to customer services, while giving libraries the flexibility to support different branches, service models and community needs. Together with Vega, it connects those operations with the ways people discover collections, find programs and engage with their library.
Reaching ten library services is a significant moment for Clarivate’s Library Management System in APAC. Queanbeyan-Palerang Regional Libraries joins a regional community that includes Shellharbour City Libraries, Newcastle Libraries, Central Coast Council Libraries, Randwick City Library and Clutha District Libraries in New Zealand. More recently we welcomed Shorelink Libraries and City of Moreton Bay Libraries.
Importantly,Clarivate continues to invest in the region, with local service and support for customers across Australia and New Zealand, and an ambition to grow the Polaris community further across APAC.
