A major implementation is giving students, teachers and school communities a modern, intuitive way to discover and access library resources
Across Catalonia in Spain, school libraries play an important role in connecting students and teachers with the resources that support learning. The Departament d’Educació i Formació Professional (GENEDU) is working with Clarivate to strengthen that experience by modernizing systems across a network of 2,245 school libraries.
Building a modern foundation at scale
In the latest implementation phase, approximately 1,450 additional schools are gaining access to Polaris and Vega Discover, library management and discovery solutions from Innovative, part of Clarivate. The rollout builds on earlier stages and extends modern technological capabilities across one of Catalonia’s most significant education networks.
Reaching this milestone required extensive planning, coordination and collaboration across data migration, systems integrations, onboarding and support readiness. That planning helped prepare schools for go-live while creating a consistent foundation for the wider network.
Enhancing discovery for school communities
GENEDU’s school library network serves more than 500,000 pupils and 95,000 teachers. Polaris gives libraries a strong foundation for managing collections and day-to-day operations efficiently, while Vega Discover offers students, teachers and staff a modern, intuitive way to search for, discover and access resources.
