Innovative, part of Clarivate, is excited to announce The New York Public Library (NYPL) has launched its new catalog for patrons using Vega Discover, a full-featured discovery tool. The new catalog —available at nypl.org — provides millions of library card users with improved access to the Library’s extensive circulating collection. NYPL joins 60 libraries who have launched Vega Discover to the public.
Featuring enhanced browsing for books and materials available for checkout at the Library online or at its circulating branches throughout the Bronx, Manhattan and Staten Island—NYPL and Innovative worked together to tailor the system to meet the unique needs of its patrons. Highlights of the new catalog include:
- search results display all formats and editions of a title in one clear display;
- bookmarking titles of interest; and
- the ability to search in more languages.
The Vega Discover system also features a patron bookshelf with custom reading lists, patron account management, and both library-curated and smart showcases on related resources and topics. Discover also comes with enhanced exploration tools, powered by Syndetics Unbound’s enrichment content, such as series data, reader reviews, browse by reading level and more, as part of an engaging library experience. Vega Discover is one module in the Vega Library Experience (LX) suite, a cloud-based platform that allows library staff to easily communicate and manage the full range of materials, programs, and services available to their community.

Vega LX is developed with input from leading global libraries to create a complete library experience for staff, patrons, donors, and citizens.
