During the session, our product team, Ashley Barey, our VP of Product, together with Samantha Cunning, Senior Product Manager, shared a broad overview of the latest enhancements designed to improve both the patron and staff experience, along with a preview of what’s coming next for Vega Discover.
The webinar highlighted a wide range of updates focused on patron engagement, personalization, workflow efficiency, and library administration. Attendees got an early look at enhancements across the Account Portal, Account Linking, Patron Registration, search relevance, reporting, and staff management tools.

One of the major themes of the session was making it easier for patrons to manage their library experience. Account Portal enhancements provide a more intuitive view of checkouts, holds, reading history, bookmarks, and saved searches, while expanded personalization options help patrons tailor discovery and account settings to their preferences.
Another key topic was the introduction of Patron registration, a new feature that allows libraries to offer a modern, customizable online registration experience directly through Vega Discover. Libraries can configure registration forms, customize messaging, and align the workflow with local policies and procedures. More information here.
The webinar also covered several patron-focused improvements, including enhancements to holds management, notifications, borrowing workflows, edition searching, and search relevance. These updates are designed to help patrons find the right materials more quickly and manage their interactions with the library more efficiently.
